SCORING: A miss is a shot out of the scoring zone or a shot after PAR. Touching the line is a hit.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD: Drill standard is 15 scoring hits out of 21 shots (with 6 dummy loads) in 30 seconds PAR. Drill failure includes hesitating to act on a misfire or a reload, or not tapping the magazine before running the slide on the malfunction. Practice without time first until you can consistently clear malfunctions properly.
SHOOTING THE DRILL: Load three magazines. Take 14 live rounds and 6 dummy loads and mix them up, keeping one live round aside. Load all three magazines with seven rounds each without knowing the order of dummy loads. In the first magazine make sure the first round is live and charge your gun prior to start. NOTE: Drill is intended to give an intense dose of malfunction clearing practice in a few rounds. Watch for anticipation of the shot showing up as muzzle dip during the dummy rounds. See a trainer to learn proper clearing technique. (Alternate Targets T-008, T-009, T-019, T-021)
